Pilot with Finland Torkinmäki school
We are glad to announce the formalisation of our collaboration on dysgraphia in Finland with Kokkola school Torkinmäki, Microsoft Flux and OppimiGroup.
Torkinmäki school starts as the first school in Finland to pilot our solution, which evaluates weaknesses in handwriting.
Through piloting at Torkinmäki school, the solution identifies the ways Finnish speaking pupils usually write and what kind of difficulties they have in writing. On the ground of this information pupils can be guided to do exercises which improve development of their writing skills.
The pilot is carried out with co-operation of Microsoft with the use of Microsoft Surface tablet and pen. This co-operation is connected to the use of digital platforms and pens in identifying and analysing reading and writing difficulties.
See a video relating the perspective of our pilot here (in Finnish, at 1min 53s)
Also an article in English is available, through the press coverage is mainly in Finnish as seen in the above video.
Finland is one of seven countries taking part in the international pilot of a new video game environment designed to help diagnose and support treatment for children affected by learning disabilities.
People with dysgraphia have problems writing, primarily by hand, and also have difficulties with coherence. The innovative pilot aims at making it easier to identify children affected by dysgraphia at an early age.
